1951, at St. Anthony’s Hospital (now BayCare). She grew up surrounded by her mother’s family of several
aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins in St. Petersburg Florida. Her cousin Pamela Carr, who was born 8
weeks prior to her, was more like a sister than a cousin. They grew up together and both graduated from
Boca Ciega High School in 1969. She attended St. Petersburg Junior College and Jackson State College,
working toward her LPN. She married Thayne Herbert Spahn in 1974 and became stepmother to
Terrance Robert Spahn and Kristie Ann Spahn. Thayne’s military career led Christine to live in Oklahoma,
and then abroad in Korea and Germany. They returned to the states, and were stationed in Maryland, in
1984. There the two of them had a daughter, Rochelle Marie Spahn. Christine continued her nursing
education and career, working on the base hospital at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Shock Trauma
University of Maryland Medical Center, and then Johns Hopkins in the Neural Critical Care Unit and then
the Cardiovascular Diagnostics Electro Physiology Lab. She and Thayne parted ways in 2000. Later, she
met Mark Edward Wible Jr., and they got married in 2004. Her career pivoted in a new direction, and she
became a Certified Diabetes Educator until she retired in 2019.
Although she hadn’t lived in Florida for many years, it always seemed like that was her true
home. She and Mark made plans to return to Florida, but those plans were delayed due to Mark’s
terminal illness and his untimely passing away in 2018. In 2020 she settled into the renovated home of
her cousin Shirley Bajgier (Pam’s mother), where she had several fond memories. Spending her days in
retirement, she enjoyed gardening and cooking. She reconnected with high school friends. She and Pam
would talk almost every day, and the two of them frequently enjoyed dining out, shopping together and
mani-pedi days!
She passed away in her home suddenly, on April 16, 2023. Christine will be exceptionally missed
and is gone too soon.
