Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend
Marjorie was born to Adrian and Ruth McKinzie on November 7, 1934, in St. Paul, Minnesota. She graduated from Johnson High School in 1952 and married classmate and love of her life, Raymond Meier, on April 16, 1955. From that beautiful union, they raised 5 children whom she loved and adored. Family was everything to her.
Marjorie loved life and celebrations. Her greatest joy was spending time with Raymond, whether it was traveling throughout the United States and around the world or visiting with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, never missing a birthday or an important event. Large extended family gatherings were important to her, for she loved seeing her sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews, and their families. Marjorie loved her life long friends. She was blessed to share life’s journey with them since high school and loved getting together with them, whether it was playing cards or traveling to someplace fun. Marjorie was passionate about playing bridge, and enjoyed a competitive game with her friends and various bridge clubs. When she won, she would spend her few dollars by treating Raymond with a Dairy Queen treat! Marjorie loved her children’s friends and always made them feel like they were part of the family.
Marjorie went through life serving others. She volunteered at her children's schools, and was a Cub Scout, Blue Bird, and Brownie leader. She coached softball, too. She delivered Meals on Wheels and served meals at the Dorothy Day Center. She made delicious spaghetti meals for Raymond’s Habitat for Humanity crews, and hosted Neighborhood Night Out, for many years in their White Bear Lake neighborhood. She loved her church, St. Andrew’s Church in Mahtomedi, Minnesota where her faith and grace continued to grow.
Marjorie will be remembered for her kind heart, and always looking for the good in others. All who knew her have been blessed.
