Gary was born on Wednesday January 21, 1976 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Walter and Lucille (Warner) Baxton. He graduated from North St. Paul high school in 1994. When he was only 12 years old, he met his life partner Andrea Anderson who, through his final days, he called the love of his life. Together they had two daughters, Evelyn and Olivia. Gary was the owner of the tattoo shop Permanent Skin Art in Maplewood for over 20 years; he worked professionally as a tattoo artist from the age of 18, though he was gifted his first tattoo machine at the age of 16. His lifelong and greatest passion was art, from intricate tattoos to elaborate birthday card designs to his endless creations of skull paintings, but he also loved movies and music, both of which he had extensive collections of and was known to be quoting 99% of the time. Gary was known by everyone as an absolute clown and loved to be as vulgar as possible with his jokes. He left an incredible impact on the lives of so many through his radiant humor, compassion, generosity, and unmatched talent in his art.
He is preceded in death by grandparents Robert and Inez Warner, Walter Mann and Evelyn Baxton; step parents Eugene and LouAnn; many aunts and uncles; and beloved pets Gizmo and Ceasar.
He is survived by Andrea, Evelyn, Olivia; parents Walter (Brenda) and Lucille; brothers Christopher, Daniel, Richard, William, Robert, and Kyle; sister in law Catherine; and treasured pets Reese, Quenby, Perro, Goonie, and Leo.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 10 am - 2 pm with Sharing of Memories starting at 1:00 pm at Wulff Funeral Home 1485 White Bear Ave N, St. Paul.
