I fondly remember cruising around in Dave’s car after debate or drama practice. We could stay out later than normal because our parents didn’t know when practice actually ended.

According to Lynda, Dave had her in his “little black book,” although I don’t think they ever dated!

I just found out about Dave's passing from our 3M softball league manager and wanted to extend my heartfelt condolences.  Dave was such an amazing, fun guy.  I played catcher quite a bit during our games so I got to talk to him quite a bit.  His friendliness and sense of humor were so awesome, I truly enjoyed talking to him.  He was a great guy and will be very, very missed!

Dave umpired in our 3M Softball league.  He was always on time, ran a tight ship and was all you could ask for in an umpire and much more.  He will be missed.  You could see that he had a deep love for the game and really enjoyed umpiring.  He surely kept us in order and I even think he enjoyed a spirited debate pointed in his direction.  My condolences to his loved ones.   


Dave will be missed.  He  umpired my men's softball league for several years.  He was very friendly , made the games fun, and didn't himself or the games too seriously.

Sincere condolences to Dave's family at this sad time.  He was a great guy and friend all through school in the Falls.  We also went to Zion Lutheran together where we shared a great church family of support growing up.   Cherish your special memories of a life well lived.  May he rest in peace.  Thinking of you as you gather to celebrate his remarkable life.

I know Dave from high school. Always smiling. a great classmate. I wish him well on his next journey. To his family, hold him close in your heart.

Dave and I were roommates during our freshman and sophomore years at Concordia.  He was also my debate partner when we were freshman.  Great memories.  He loved talking about International Falls and politics.   He will be missed.  

Dave and I were on the high school debate team with our good friend Tom. One weekend we checked in to a motel for an out of town meet.  Tom and I got to the room first and claimed the beds. Dave had to sleep on the roll-away. He muttered “I don’t care” several times. 

The next tournament, Tom and I got to the room to find Dave planted on one of the beds with every towel, washcloth, and bar of soap piled around him, chuckling in a satisfied fashion. 

So saddened to learn of Dave's death.  His unmatched sense of humor & dedication to family & friends will always be remembered.

Where to start?  You are sorely missed! After 25 years of friendship. From the many years of Thursday night softball games, to solving world problems over "a few" beers in Canada. To the quite afternoons catching fish, to our customary jabbing at Sara for her undying  commitment to the enemy green and gold squad. To the sage advice you would take the time for as a coworker and  friend. To your sincere view of all things Condor. You are one of the good ones and will always be remembered fondly.

So many years, so many memories! From Tucson, Paradise Island Bahamas, Alex, Souix Lookout Canada and finally home base; Mendota Heights.  Hit em straight in your next round.  I will miss you my Condor brother.

We have privately communicated our sad condolences to Dana for Dave's sudden and untimely passing. We look forward to the opportunity to hug all of you, to laugh together as we share many of the wonderful and humorous stories, and to shed more tears as we continue to grieve at our enormous loss.

On behalf of Dave's Men's Golf Outing (MGO) college friends, I would like to express our deepest condolences to Dave's family, friends, and neighbors - particularly Dana.  Dave was a part of our MGO group going back some 40 years with many great stories and memories which we will always cherish.  He was a good man and we will miss him dearly.   May we find comfort in knowing that he is in an even better place and resting in peace.  We look forward to a celebration of Dave's life. Dave, was an all-around wonderful guy, friend and neighbor for almost 29 years we have a lot of history together.  I started getting to know him as a neighbor in 1993 when I moved in next to him.  Later Dave asked me to play softball with him which went on for many, 15 or so summers/seasons some ending good others not so but I really enjoyed playing with him.  He really loved playing the game and was very good at it.  You could always count on a single to right with Dave.   After many years of softball, we both started to realize that we weren’t young anymore. Dave was a couple years older than me and decided to move into umpiring.  At that point, the team struggled without him, but we continued for a couple more years, but without Dave keeping the team together, it started falling apart.   Dave always made sure the players were there or had a team at the beginning of the season.  I really enjoyed playing the game and loved the camaraderie with him before, during and after the games, along with sharing a few beers together with him. The games were always on Thursday night and by that time of the week, I am sure we both were ready for beers and playing ball. 
During the rest of the year, whenever I would see him in the yard or him me, we would always strike up a conversation really about anything that came to our mind, but it would always start with sports, me being from Wisconsin and him Minnesota it was always a battle with who had the better team.   
Dave you were truly a great friend and neighbor I will really miss you and those conversations we had about life.   Rest in peace.


My FAVORITE memory of David is from when we played softball on the Condor softball team. It was a great way to get away from work and yet, still be a part of it at the same time. Week after week, game after game David was there.
Then... David became an umpire. He was tough, but fair as an umpire. Much like how I will remember him.
