Clarence Leonard Dick

Clarence Leonard Dick, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on April 8, 2024, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He was born on March 16, 1934, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to George and Marie Dick.

Clarence graduated from Johnson High School in 1952 before bravely serving his country in the United States Navy. He served aboard the USS Strong during the Korean War until 1956. Following his honorable discharge, Clarence married his lifelong nextdoor neighbor, LeVon Munson in 1957, beginning a journey filled with love and devotion.

In 1956, Clarence began his career at 3M Chemolite, where he worked diligently until his retirement in 1997. Throughout his tenure, he also served as the financial secretary and president of the OCAW union, exemplifying his commitment to his colleagues.

Clarence's dedication extended beyond the workplace, as he was a cornerstone of his community. A proud member of the Anderson Nelson VFW Post 1635 and the Arcade Phalen American Legion Post 577, he held various leadership roles, including Commander, Quartermaster, and renowned booya chef. Additionally, Clarence was a dedicated member of the Wednesday Memorial Rifle Squad at Fort Snelling for 24 years, honoring fallen comrades with dignity and respect.

A true philanthropist at heart, Clarence donated over 20 gallons of blood and devoted over 6,000 hours to veterans' organizations, leaving an indelible mark on those he served.

Clarence is preceded in death by his parents, George and Marie, and his siblings, George, Wallace, Kathleen, Harold, Richard, Marilyn, and Allen. He is survived by his loving wife, LeVon, and children: Deb Philippi (Dan), Susan Erickson, Laurie Dick, Jerry (Mary), Jeff, Mike (Dani), and Lindsey Satter (Mike). He leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild on the way, along with numerous nieces and nephews who cherished their Uncle Clarence.

Known for his infectious smile, kindness, humility, loyalty, and patience, Clarence's gentle and calming nature endeared him to all who knew him. He cherished his role as a grandfather, attending countless family events with unwavering support and pride. An avid bowler, Clarence shared his passion with LeVon, competing in leagues and tournaments throughout the years.

Clarence's legacy of love, service, and devotion will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Monday, April 22, 2024 at Wulff Funeral Home, 1485 White Bear Ave N, St Paul, MN. Visitation from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM immediately followed by a memorial service from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Burial with military honors Wednesday, April 24 1:45 PM at Fort Snelling. Meet at Assembly Area #3 by 1:30.
