Art was born on March 8, 1930 in St. Paul to John & Gertie Peterson. He graduated from Johnson High School then served in the Navy. He worked at 3M for the next 43 years both in the Twin Cities and the Netherlands.
Art’s lifelong hobby was woodworking and he spent many, many hours in his shop creating toys, gifts and name trains. He never met a stranger and had friends everywhere. In the last few years he started carrying around small wooden cars that he made to give away to people he met.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 30 years, Kathy (Ekblad) Peterson, children, Karen (Steve) Kobeska, Ken (Mary) Peterson, Diane Postma of Ft. Jones, CA, Marti Kuhlman (Bob), 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara M Peterson, son Robert Peterson, son-in-law Nick Postma and grandsons Christopher and Zack.
A Celebration of Life Open House & Party will be held on November 26, 12-4 at Lake Elmo Inn Event Center (3712 Layton Ave N., Lake Elmo). In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Ronald McDonald House are preferred.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.WulffFuneralHome.com for the Peterson family.
