Sam, as he was better known, proudly served his country in the National Guard for seven years. He had a big heart and an even bigger sense of humor- which he enjoyed sharing with everyone around him. Sam’s smile and laugh were infectious and he could have everyone in the room cracking a smile after only a few seconds. Sam was a Jack-of-all-trades that excelled at anything he put his mind too. He would put his heart and soul into every new thing he tried until it was perfected. In his younger years, Sam worked on a dredge boat and as commercial fisherman. He had a passion for working on his boat and loved every minute he was in the water. Sam will be fondly remembered for his love of dancing and food. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Sam will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his sons, Yancy R. Broussard of Baldwin and Jason J. Broussard and wife Dana of Parks; daughters, Lacie Broussard Bagley of Baldwin and Kandi Broussard Duhon and husband Lonnie, Jr. of Franklin; and grandchildren, Ryan Broussard, Colton Broussard, Keelie Segura, and Olivia Duhon.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Juanita H. Broussard; parents, Renee’ and Julie Buford Broussard; brother, Fred Broussard; and sisters, Betty Broussard Bourque, Ramona Broussard Landry, and Caroline Broussard Frederick.
Pallbearers will be members and friends of the family.
