Dear son of the late Rudolph and Catherine Zabel (nee: Pahde).
Dear brother of Leslie (Doris) Zabel, the late Elaine (the late George) Schmidt and a late infant sister.
Our dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Mr. Zabel loved his church. He volunteered countless hours as an usher, elder and mentor. He was an avid reader, baseball Cardinals fan and loved his dogs.

Visitation at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 765 Lemay Ferry Road, on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m.
Interment with full military honors will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
