To Ted's Family:

I just wanted to send prayers and thoughts to all of you. I had the pleasure of knowing Ted through my time serving on the NCESA BOD for almost ten years. Ted had so much pride in the E Scow class and embodied everything about a true volunteer and steward of the organization. His thoughtfulness and dedication was really incredible and thousands of sailors have benefited from his attention to the scantlings and rules details. I loved seeing all of the photos of his life and your beautiful family - sailing has meant so much to my family as well and I am eternally grateful for all of the wonderful people it has brought into my life.

Jeanette and Eric- I cannot imagine Ted not being at CSA, doing all the things he did to make CSA be the CSA we all know and love. While I think of Ted on so many CSA fronts and leadership positions, I will always remember Ted being an instructor at sailing camp when I was growing up --  talks on cleaning up sheets, tying the correct knots (sometimes to get lunch!), properly rolling sails,  and of course all the E scow rides that always seemed to happen on any nice evening. Ted made so many of us love competing and being on the water, and I will always cherish that. 

Thanks for everything Ted - you will be sorely missed.

Great memories of Ted our Y-FLYER FLEET go to guy to be Race Committee Chairman for Nationals and CSA Beer & Boats Regattas. He could always ensure races were completed in the extremes of Carlyle Lake weather conditions!
First met Ted in 1966 when he was racing on the Mississippi in the E-Scow, LORELEI wearing Leiderhosen, like a Viking!
Let the Angels and Valkeries guide him home to VALHALLA, I mean HEAVEN!   THANKS TED!!

Ted was an important long term leader at Carlyle Sailing Association. Ted will be dearly missed in so many ways by our sailing community.   Ted was a sailor through and through and was so lucky to be doing what he loved  in the end.   Looks like the plan did come together for Ted and we are happy for Ted in that respect.
For the rest of us, especially you Jeanette, Ted has left behind a big void.  We will all find a way  carry to on with fond  memories.  For Ted, we send thoughts  of  fair weather and good wind as he sails on to his next race.
