Friends, family, and colleagues of Robin Moushey are invited to attend a memorial picnic which will be held at Willmore Park Pavilion #2 on Sunday June 13 from noon to 4 p.m. Bring lawn chairs and drinks as we gather to commemorate Robin’s life and love of joyful gatherings. The family encourages donations to the St. Louis Crisis Nursery in Robin’s name for those looking for an alternative way to memorialize her.
Robin Moushey, 74, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at her home in St. Louis, Missouri surrounded by friends and family. She was born on June 4, 1946 in New York, New York to Leo and Josephine (Castiglione) Prince.
Robin’s family moved throughout her childhood, but she settled in St. Louis after high school and made it her hometown. She attended Barnes School of Nursing earning her diploma in 1965. She continued her nursing education attaining her BSN in 1974 and MSN in1977 from St. Louis University.
Robin’s life’s work was pediatric nursing. Throughout her career Robin served as a nursing instructor at Barnes Hospital and St. Louis University and with staff development at Cardinal Glennon. Most of her career she worked as a clinical nurse specialist at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Robin was recognized for excellence in nursing by professional organizations including the Missouri Nursing Association. In the late 1990s she was instrumental in initiating the Pediatric Acute Wound Service (PAWS) clinic. Robin’s contributions to wound care and pain management is found in published research and textbook chapters that she authored. The impact she has had in the lives of children, their families, and her peers is endless.
Robin is survived by her son Matt (Kelly) Moushey of St. Louis, Missouri and her grandchildren Luke, 9, and Jake, 7. Robin’s goal in her last two years was to provide her grandbabies with beautiful memories of fun and travel. She truly succeeded.
Robin was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Patricia Ford.
