Rae was born in St. Louis on May 25, 1933, the oldest of Joe and Rose Ziglin’s four children. Throughout her life, Rae created a welcoming house for her family and friends. Jewish holidays were celebrated with her special recipes, her swimming pool was full of grandchildren in the summer and evenings were spent enjoying a variety of games. She was a learner and listener, an artist and afghan knitter, and had the ability to make everyone feel like they were the most important person in her life.
