Nancy Maria Bodine

Nancy Maria Barbara Bodine (née Kersting; Mugavero) fortified with the last rites, died on August 4, 2023. She was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on May 24, 1954. Nancy was married to the love of her life, John “Frank” Franklin Bodine. She had two beautiful daughters, Amy Maria and Elizabeth “Libby” Anna Alexander. She was a sister to Richard (Nancy), Gerald (Kimberly) Kersting, and Dr. Bette Kersting (Elliot) Bell, as well as a sister-in-law to Howard (Debbie) Bodine.

Nancy was an aunt to Dr. Kristina, Anthony (Breanna), Matthew (Cezara), and Stephanie Kersting. Her nephews included Jesse Carender, Sean (Samantha) Bodine, and James (Ashley) Rhodes. She was a great-aunt to Isabella Kersting. Preceding her in death are her parents, Edward F. and Agnes L. Kersting (Mugavero), her parents-in-law Henry P. and Harriet “Tex” L. (Reeder), as well as, brother-in-law David; Travis, and Christopher Bodine.

She was a coach just like her dad. Nancy showed young women athletes how to run the bases and keep their eye on the ball. Those athletes now teach their kids the rules of the game, so her legacy endures. She enjoyed being a Master Gardener, a Discovery Garden volunteer, a bridge player, a cook, and hosting gatherings. Above all, she loved watching the Saint Louis Cardinals play baseball and Florida sunsets.

As she was baptized, she will be celebrated at the Mass of the Resurrection, at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church on August 16, 2023. Preceding the 10 a.m. mass will be visitation at 9 a.m. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery immediately following mass.
