Marie (nee Nelson) Jordan, age 96, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Orville Jordan; loving mother of David (Joanne) Jordan, Gary Jordan, and Bradley (Julie) Jordan; dear mother-in-law of Vickie Jordan; dear grandmother of Stephanie Jordan, Monica (Tim) Osterhout, Tara Miller, Kelly Jordan, Max Jordan, and Alex (Chloe) Jordan; great grandmother of Avery, Emily, Ryan, Jack, and Scarlett. Predeceased by her parents, the late Ray and Lucy (nee Riley) Nelson, she was also the last of her siblings, including most recently, Nina Rieks. Also, the beloved sisters-in-law of Vera B. Jordan and Edith B. (Jordan) Juede. Also, a host of nieces and nephews. She was a friend too many and never met a stranger.
Marie was an active member of Hope United Church of Christ. She was also a longtime member of American Legion Post 111 along with the Legion Post 111 Woman’s Auxiliary.
SERVICES: Visitation 1pm until time of service at 3pm Saturday, August 19, 2023 Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary 6464 Chippewa, St. Louis, MO 63109. Private interment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in honor of Marie may be made to Hope United Church of Christ, 6273 Eichelberger Street, Saint Louis, MO 63109.
