Madeline was the beloved wife of the late Donald J. Jacob; loving mother of Susan (John) Schleipman, Thomas Jacob, Donna Calhoun, Linda (Pete) Hutnyk, and Mark (Julie) Jacob; cherished grandmother of Jane (Nick) Civili, Jack Schleipman, Michael Calhoun, Benjamin Calhoun, Emily Calhoun, Sam Hutnyk, Anna Hutnyk, Danny Hutnyk, and Noah Jacob; dear sister of Marie (the late Malcolm) Eilerman; dear aunt, great-aunt, and a dear friend to many in her lifetime.
Madeline was born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 11, 1935 to Arsenio and Margaret (nee' Walsh) Ippolito. She attended Epiphany grade school and graduated from St. Mark's High School. She met Don on a blind date and married May 11, 1963 at Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church. She and Don raised their five kids in St. Bernadette Parish.
Madeline was extremely proud of her heritage and the fact that her dad came from Italy and her mom came from Ireland. Her simple upbringing shaped her, and she raised her children to recognize what is meaningful in life; family and friends. She was a very compassionate person. She and Don were very devout Catholics.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, and all kinds of music. She was an avid garage sale devotee and her Saturdays were always booked. She was very close to her sister, Marie, although they were miles apart. They spoke a lot on the phone and made trips to see each other whenever they could.
Madeline dedicated a lot of her retirement life to taking care of Don, who passed away in 2002. They were best friends and treasured the 39 years they had together. She left the world a better place, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
