Leonard, Katherine ‘Kay’ Virginia, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, March 18, 2012 at the age of 88. Only child of the late Virginia Clare (nee Brockman) Schutze Graham and Francis ‘Marion’ Schutze. Adopted and raised by Robert Graham. Beloved wife for 19 years of the late Russell Joseph Leonard. Dear friend to the late Jane McCartney, Judy and Earl Hemker, Ruth Renz, Vickie Koziacki, the late Aurelia Dulle, and the late Georgia and Louis Buckowitz. Dear Godmother to Jackie McFadden, Bob McCartney and Dennis McFadden.
Kay worked for 19 years for the State of Missouri Circuit Court Clerks’ Office, for 29 years for Falstaff Brewing Corporation, former Alderwoman of the City of St. Louis (3rd Ward),and after retiring in 1995, she was named by Mayor Bosley to the Civil Service Commission. Kay was a member for over 45 years in the American Legion Auxiliary Golden Anniversay Unit #555, 11th & 12th Districts (Vice President of the 11th District & Finance Chairmman); Former member, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 381 (Past President & Treasurer); Member, 8 and 40, American Legion Member 10197 for 25 years in 2009, St. Louis City (Finance Chairman); Member, St. Louis Veteran's Home Committee - Life Member 4/28/89, Committeewoman (10th Ward) 1986-1992; Member, Falstaff Alumni Association (Secretary & Treasurer); and Falstaff Alumni Poker Club, Member 19 years, St. Raphael Archangel Catholic Church (Chairman, Women's Guild Welcome Club Circle); collected money for the Propogation of the Faith and worked on getting 84 attendance prizes for St. Raphael's Card Party, Member, St. Alexius Hospital Auxiliary (Vice President of Volunteers); Member ARMSE (Association of Retired Missouri State Employees), Stae & City of St. Louis Chapters; Member, Anheuser-Busch's Silver Eagles Club.
Funeral from HOFFMEISTER COLONIAL MORTUARY, 6464 Chippewa at Watson ,Thursday, March 22, 2012 9:00 A.M.to St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church with Mass at 9:30 A.M.
The interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
