Jerry Brendel

Jerry Brendel, age 69, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023. Jerry was born December 23, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Irma (nee Kline) and Jerome “Sam” Brendel. He attended Froebel Elementary School and Roosevelt High School in South St. Louis. Jerry earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Missouri At Rolla in 1975. He married JoAnn (nee Mercurio) on June 14, 1980 at the Old Cathedral in downtown St. Louis. Jerry and JoAnn welcomed their son, Jason Michael Brendel, on July 13, 1988. Jerry earned his Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 1991.

Jerry was a loving husband, father, son, grandson, godfather, uncle, great-uncle, son-in-law, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend to many. He was a proud & loving father who loved to do activities with his son, Jason. Jerry referred to Jason since he was little as his “Best Bud.” Jerry was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where he was very active in parish events with his family.

Jerry was a Civil Engineer for 48 years, an Eagle Scout and a member of the Boy Scouts of America program for almost 60 years.

The family is abiding by Jerry’s wishes, all funeral services will be private. Jerry will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery and Mausoleum, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, Missouri.
