We both were high-volume online record dealers in the early 2000s.  I was in my 30s and he was 18 when we met.  I was blown away by his ability to retain the knowledge of all the titles as he was so young and inexperienced at the time.  The field of rare records is based on knowledge and typology.  It takes a certain kind of mind to do this work and he was like a prodigy, so young and blessed with the absolute ability to understand the material. He was an impressive person and a gentle man. Rest In Peace.

I live in Australia and have had many dealings with Jason since the early 2000's as a record collector. He was always friendly and curious as a person and fair and straight up as a record dealer.
He was instrumental in founding a methodical way  to find 45s in the wild that was then widely put into practice by many others. He was a pioneer.
His loss is felt within the global soul community.

I knew Jason thru The Michpocha. Jason, Sue, Larry and Adam are family. I have known them for 30 + years. I am so sorry. My thoughts are with Jason and his family. I remember Jason being a kind and gentle soul.  My sincerest condolences.  May his memory be a blessing.  

I had the pleasure of getting to know Jason over the past eight or nine years. He was kind, generous, deeply passionate, smart, and innovative. He was easy to be around and I always enjoyed catching up with him. I am so saddened by his death. I am wishing the Koenig family peace. I will keep Jason in my memory and your whole family in my heart. 

Jason was a very good friend to Ron and me and  “Uncle Jason” to our two children. I will miss his kind and caring nature. I’ll remember the patience and interest he had listening to the children ramble about whatever they were rambling about and it will make me smile. They will miss going fishing with him. He will not be forgotten. May he Rest In Peace and may his memory bring peace to his loved ones. 

I’ve known Jason for 11 years or so and he was forever kind, decent, sincere and generous. I’m glad to have known him and will be sad that he’s gone for a very long time. 

Jason changed the course of my life.  

Maybe he was too good for this world.  

Rest In Peace my friend.

Scored some of the rarest Vintage Jazz records, are in my collection buying from Jason for many years up until recently! What a sad shocker of news that he passed away!?!? Condolences to his family. Rest in Peace, Brethren, you will be highly missed! 

Jason was and will always be like a brother to me. I met him while he was in high school and was pushing him to be a DJ. I thought he was profoundly talented and knew he could be whatever he set his mind to. We shared a love for music and I’ll remember the times I shared with him DJing at Vintage Vinyl and at the Science at Blueberry Hill.  I’ll miss him. 

I have many great memories of Jason as we grew up together.  From baseball lessons to family outings he was such a kind human being.
