Born in Reading, OH to the late Truman and Eva Wagner. Married to the late Helen L. Wagner (nee Higgins) for 57 years. Jim served in the United States Marine Corps 1943-1945. Coached basketball at Loveland, OH for 10 years prior to moving to St. Louis. Jim became a beloved basketball coach and vice principal at Ladue High School until his retirement in 1985. Jim was a mentor to coaches and faculty in his career. He was loved and cherished by students and friends. In Jim's life he demonstrated respect and humility to all he met. Jim was known for his generosity and kindness. He was a man of faith and exhibited that faith throughout his life.
SERVICES: A Celebration of Life honoring Jim and Helen will be offered for friends at 11am, Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Hilton Hotel in Frontenac, St Louis MO. Light reception immediately following.
