passing of Elsie on February 28, 2024, at the age of 97. Devoted wife of Thomas - predeceased
2004, mother of Thomas (Jacqueline) and Andrew (Line), and much-loved grandmother to
Shawn (Lindsey), Scott (Iris), and Bradley. Great-grandmother to Finn and Sonja. Much loved by
the extended family of Nicolas (Corinne) and Catherine (Benjamin) and their children. Aunt to
many nieces and nephews in England. Predeceased by her sister, Evelyn, and sisters and
brothers-in-law, John, Robert, Annie, Vera, and Edna.
Elsie moved from England in July 1963 to make a new life with her husband in Canada.
However much she loved Canada and the opportunities it brought to her family, England
remained “home”. An avid gardener, she passed her very green thumb on to many including her
son Andrew, and a pale green thumb to her son Tom.
With grateful thanks to the staff at Vigi Monteregie and also to Lou-Anne Murdock who provided
companionship and support to the end.
A funeral service will be held on May 11 at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White in Saint-Lambert,
starting at 11:00 am followed by a service at 1:00 and a reception. In lieu of flowers, those
wishing may make memorial donations to Saint Barnabas Church, Saint Lambert).
