We were honored to watch the webcast of Denise's life celebration. The many miles between our families have definitely caused a gap in our stories. My deepest sympathies on the passing of Denise! I first met Denise as part of the liaison team when Richelieu Valley Regional High School welcomed the Grade 7 students. The secretaries played a key role in facilitating the sixth graders who enjoyed tours of the high school they were going to attend. Denise, whose work was of high quality, was among the most competent. I experienced this as Director General of the Richelieu Valley School Board. Denise was a person that the South Shore regional support staff counted on for the changes in the new technology, since Denise was knowledgeable, highly skilled, and, above all, dependable. Although seemingly serious, Denise’s smile demonstrated the joy she felt when she was helping others. This quality of helping others benefitted the SSPSB [Riverside School Board] once the elementary feeder school boards amalgamated. Denise became the Secretary General due to her fluency in both languages, sense of responsibility, and wise decision-maker, which endeared her to board members and staff. I feel that knowing and working with Denise enriched my life. I shall miss her.
