Colleen Rheault passed away peacefully in the early hours of April 28th surrounded by love and under the remarkable care of the personnel at the CHSLD La pommeraie in Cowansville. Born August 27, 1934 to Gertrude and Joseph Rheault and raised in Cochrane Ontario. Colleen moved to Quebec City as a teenager to start her career at Bell Canada and learn French. In 1957 she married Berthold Groleau, they had 5 children; Marie, whom they lost tragically at a young age, Danielle, Josée, Pierre and Patricia. Family values and a strong work ethic were always at the core of our mother’s life. She had a desire to help others which led her to become a psychotherapist, a career she committed to well into her 70s.
Colleen had a fantastic sense of humour, the best laugh, was unapologetically truthful and did not live her life according to the conventions of her time. She marched to the beat of her own drum, a unique drum beat that will be greatly missed by her family and all who loved her.
She leaves behind her children, Danielle (Jean Sebastien), Josée (Jerome), Pierre (Jelyn) and Patricia; her grandchildren, Alexandre, Frédérique, Olivia and Michaëlle; Félix, Mulan (and their mother Joy); Trevor and Jassy.
Her brother Marvin Joseph Rheault; and her nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitations will be held Saturday May 13th between 10h and 12h
At the Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 307 Riverside Dr, St-Lambert, QC J4P 1A7
Followed by a religious service at 12h30
At St-Francis of Assisi Parish, 844 Avenue Notre-Dame, St-Lambert, QC J4R 1R8
