Patricia Jean Cantin, age 88, passed away February 9, 2019. She was born on October 26, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to Harry and Martha Guier. Her two sisters were Edith McKlin (deceased) and Marsha Karas.
Patricia met the love of her life, Pierre Edward Joseph Cantin, at a dancehall in Grand Bend, Ontario, Canada in 1951 and married him on January 5, 1952. Pierre preceded her death in 2005, going before her to prepare the stars for a time when they would dance together once again.
Patricia had beautiful blue green eyes that infinitely sparkled and a deep abiding love for Jesus and Mary. She was quick to smile and laugh and had a very loving heart.
She dedicated her life to supporting her family. Raising 7 children, loving 16 grandchildren and adoring two great grandchildren, Patricia lived her life as a song of praise and glory to God. She opened her home and heart to all those who needed a hug, a family, a friend, a warm meal or a smile. She donated her time and money to others and prayed throughout her days. She had many talents and enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and serving others. She loved getting together with her lifelong friends for card club and playing bingo.
Patricia is survived by her 7 children and their spouses Suzette Ciminelli, David and Nancy Cantin, Nanette Cantin, Michelle and Bruce Osborne, Therese and Marty Ferschneider, Paul and Mary Cantin, and Danielle Cantin; 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Please join us for a celebration of Patricia’s life on Thursday, February 14, 2019. Visitation is between 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave in St. Clair Shores. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. with Memory Sharing to follow.
Patricia will be instate at St. Joan of Arc in St. Clair Shores on Friday at 11:30 a.m. with a Celebration of Life Funeral Mass at NOON and luncheon to follow.
On Saturday, February 16, 2019, Patricia will make her way to St. Peter’s in St. Joseph, Ontario where she will be honored with a Memorial Service at 1 p.m. and united in the cemetery with her beloved Pierre and granddaughter Lauren.
