Neil Hardy Bruning, age 85, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Neil was born in Rogers City, Michigan, to parents Edward and Helen Bruning. Beloved husband to the late Sharon Bruning. Beloved father to Gretchen (Robert) Kroll, Graig (Clayton Fortna) Bruning and the late Heidi Auld. Cherished papa to Alexander (Emily) Kroll and Tyler Kroll. Neil was preceded in death by his 9 siblings Donald, Glen (Betty), (William (Trudy), Marjorie (Lee), Richard (Doris), Herb (Marjorie), Joyce (Donald) and Eugene (Patricia), Fredrick and many nieces and nephews. Neil loved all of his siblings, wife, children and grandchildren. They meant the world to him.
He loved golfing, deer hunting, archery and woodworking. He could do anything he put his mind to and often did just to prove he could. In his younger years there was always a car in the garage he was working on in his spare time. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. Neil retired from Chrysler after many years of dedicated service and enjoyed his retirement. After nine unhappy years without his Sharon they are finally reunited for eternity. Neil will be missed by many loved ones.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 11:00 am (gathering at 10:00 am), at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 22915 Greater Mack Ave., St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48080.
Visitation Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Kaul Funeral Home 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48081.
Neil will be laid to rest in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Moltke, MI.
