Nancy Ann Tancredi, age 97, passed away May 14, 2023. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 28, 1925 to her dear parents Mario and Rosalia Agosta. Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Mario Tancredi and son, Michael Tancredi. She is survived by her loving children: Linda Finkelstein, John Tancredi; and granddaughter: Gina Finkelstein. Nancy received several awards thanking her for her supervisory role at the Joseph Snyder Macomb Oakland Regional Center in placing and supporting developmentally disabled individuals who came from various state institutions and placing them in community based foster care where they were able to reach their maximum potential. She received honors from: Mayor Ted B. Waby and council members of St. Clair Shores, Thomas D. Wakins, Jr., the Director of the Michigan Department of Mental Health, Nick Ciaramitaro a Michigan State Representative, “The Ben Censoni Outstanding Community Service Award”, and a Meritorious Service Award from Gerald Provencal, Director of MORC. In the 1950s Nancy also learned how to make, slip cast porcelain figurines. She was an excellent seamstress making her son’s baby clothes and her daughter’s prom dress. The family also raves about her excellent cooking and her caretaking abilities.
