Helen Karr Velasquez

Helen Velasquez, age 89, of Grosse Pointe, Michigan passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022. Helen was born January 29, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan to the proud parents of Clifton and Virginia Karr. Loving wife of 47 years to the late Henry "Hank" M. Velasquez. Beloved mother to Marsha (Thad) Garfield and Michael (Doreen) Griffin. Grandmother to Amy (Al) Smigielski, Monica Griffin, Travis Griffin, Anthony Griffin, Jessie Griffin and Jerika Griffin. Great-Grandmother to Kayla, Brendan, Lexy, Jordan, Hudson, and Jaelynn. Helen was preceded in death by her children William Griffin, MaryBeth Griffin and her sister Joanne Scherer.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday September 17, 2022, at Grosse Pointe United Methodist Church 211 Moross Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan 48236, beginning with a gathering at 11:00 am until time of service at 11:30 am.

Memorials in memory of Helen are suggested to the Grosse Pointe United Methodist Church.
