I remember Doreen from high school. Prayers and positive thoughts going out to her family. May she rest in peace.


Dear Doreen, I am still in disbelief of your passing.  My prayers are with your family at this very heartbreaking time. Over the years you became a very close, dear and loved friend. You were always there to share a laugh or a tear. You are sorely missed. I miss our conversation where we could share anything with each other, you were always there for support, encouragement and a good laugh. You always helped put life in perspective,  please Rest In Peace my dear friend. I know you will be in heaven telling God about Michael and Bridget and how very proud of how wonderful they have grown up. Peace be with your beloved family. You will always be in my prayers!

Even though we are cousins and I did not know you very well as I grew up, I am so very thankful and pleased that these last few years we have reconnected and have gotten to know each other much better! We both have our beloved Havanese dogs in common! And I loved hearing how proud you were of Michael and Bridget and all of their accomplishments! I’m so very glad you got to see Michael get married to his beautiful Samantha. It’s comforting to know you are with your mom and dad now. Say hello to everyone and I will see you again one day! 

I feel so blessed to have had the chance to have Doreen in my life. Doreen and I meet when we worked together at a doctors office. It wasn’t long and we got to know each other, we shared so much we had lots in common. We both changed offices but continued to keep in contact and meet for lunch and dinner. Doreen’s favorite topic was her children when she talked about Michael and Bridget she glowed! I will miss you Doreen, our talks and laughing together. I pray you are in peace with your parents. Love You and see you again one day my Friend!!    

Dorie, it's still hard to believe you're gone.  This was such a shock to all those who knew and loved you, I'm sure.  I am going to miss you.  We started being pen-pals when we were both little, when writing letters and putting a stamp on them to mail them was the thing to do. We called each other a few times, and then we emailed instead of actually putting pen to paper.  We shared the tumultuous times in our lives  and the good times.  You shared Bridget's and Michael's accomplishments, which you were so proud of.  You are proud of your children.  You were so happy that Michael and Samantha were married -- that was such a special day.  I'm glad you got to see it.  We would  always touch base with each other, although, the last few years, it was less often, and I  am really sorry about that.  I am going to miss you.  I always knew I could reach out, and I hope you felt the same.  You visited us once, and we visited you, and met your parents, when I was in your wedding.  Time is too short.  I love you.  I miss you.  I pray for Bridget, Michael, Sam, and Eddie, and all your family and friends.  Your loss is a deep loss.  I love you.  Sherry

Doreen always will be remembered just as she was. A sweet, kind and gentle soul who was constantly ready with a smile and support, a true friend to all. She has given us the fondest memories.

Just a few: 
Driving up to the Carless farm in Bad Axe together with the intentions to eliminate our weakest brain cells…only Doreen didn’t really Drink.  Arriving at dawn,  Doreen’s many friends were still sleeping and waking up a bit grumpy. Everyone started the 4th of July celebration ahead of us. Still Doreen could make anyone smile with her cheerful disposition no matter how dehydrated they were. 
Then the engine blew on my car and Steve Corbett towed us all the way home with his Jeep. It was hot and miserable without the engine to power the Air Conditioning. But Doreen, always the champ, was happy, joking and laughing all the way.  She was smart too. She never let me drive her anywhere again. 

Walking the Tiger Stadium corridor during the 7th inning stretch. Then from behind us we hear the infamous voice of Ernie Harwell saying “hello Doreen, how are you”? They proceeded to have a warm conversation as family friends. It was amazing 

How proud she was of her 1st car, the Camaro. 

Its been 40+ years and Doreen still makes us smile. A true loss. 


Oh Doreen. You have been my friend since kindergarten and I have so, so many wonderful memories about you. You cared deeply about your family and friends, and I know we all feel stunned over your passing. On a happier note, I remember how people used to think we were sisters (and we let them!) from the time we were 5 years old.  I’ll never forget the vacations we took together, meals we shared, nights out to see bands, and on and on. You will be missed by so many. There is a hole in our world now where you once were. Today it is filled with grief and sadness but I will do my best to fill it with memories of the laughs, talks and times shared. You will always be remembered and loved! 💗

Doreen- i truly would like to say this to my sister will miss you a awful lot which is the truth you are going to a nice place and be with our parents.!
