Joseph Maheu

It is with great sadness that we announce that Joe has gone to be with the Lord, Thursday October 20th, 2016 at the Welland Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was in his 91st year. Most cherished husband of Estelle for 70 years. Wonderful and caring father of Larry, Helene & Evans McInerney, Yvan & Jana, Denis & Kathy, Jack and Darlene and John and Debbie. Loving pepere to nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Predeceased by his beloved daughter in law Carol. Born in St. Aurelie, Quebec, he was the oldest of 16 children. Joe was a dedicated and hard worker all his life, and in retirement, spent many enjoyable years touring the country in his Winnebago with Estelle. They also served at the Cathedral of St. Catherine as Eucharist ministers.

The family will receive friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street (905-684-6346) on Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Prayers will take place at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 10:30 am. Interment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens.
