John van Staalduinen

Passed away suddenly, yet peacefully, at the NHS – St. Catharines Site, with his three sons by his side on Friday, July 11, 2014 at the age of 87. Loving husband of the late Helen. Cherished father of Bruce (Jo-Ann), Gary and Ian (Laureen). Opa of Alexander, Rebecca, Jessica, Dan (Laura), Krista, Robert, Pieter, James, and Matthys. Great-grandfather of Owen. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews here in Canada as well as in the Netherlands. Predeceased by his parents Pieter and Goverdina and brothers and sisters in the Netherlands. John faithfully attended Knox Presbyterian Church for 65 years and was involved with the “Out of the Cold Program”. John was a longtime General Motors employee for 37 years with Central Plant Engineering.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to celebrate John’s life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 12 p.m. Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
