Peacefully passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Upper Canada Lodge, with family by her side, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Prime (2001). Cherished Mum of Julie, Neil (Lori) and Aileen (Darryl Porritt). Proud and loving Grandma of Sheldyn and Chelsea Prime and Alexa and Kristina Porritt. Predeceased by her brothers; Robert, William “Bill” and her twin, James. Janet will be lovingly remembered by her sister in law, Anne Rennie; her God-daughter, Anne Rennie; nephew, Gordon (Liz) Rennie; great-niece, Lisa; and the extended Prime family.
Gordon and Janet were the former owners of McVicars Meats (Scottish Butcher). Gordon and Janet were also Past Presidents of the Swing & Whirl Square Dance Club.
The family wishes to thank the caregivers & staff at Upper Canada Lodge for everything they did for Janet and a heartfelt thank you to Sheila Lewis for her friendship and compassionate care she showed to our mother when we couldn’t be there.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the Hulse & English Funeral Home & Chapel, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines (905-684-6346) from 1 until 2 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at 2 p.m. Cremation has taken place, a private burial will take place at a later date.
