Claudette Helmkay

Peacefully with her family by her side on July 15, 2010 at Hospice Niagara in her 41st year. Beloved wife of Roger for 15 years; loving mother of Quinn Clifford and Chloe Lorraine; dear daughter of Claude and Lorraine Young and daughter-in-law of Roger and Brenda Helmkay; cherished sister of Karen Gill (Steve), sister-in-law to Doug (Lisa) and Kim Helmkay; loving aunt to Robert, Dustin (Gosia), Rebecca, Matthew, Meighan and Madison; great-aunt to Sirena Denise. Claudette was a special niece and friend to many. Special thanks to Hospice Niagara, Juravinski Cancer Centre, Wellspring Niagara, Dreams 2 Memories, Dr. Tozer, Dr. Kerley and Dr. Oinonen, Linda and Charlene. Claudette’s journey has touched so many and she was a brave and courageous lady who wanted to teach us to “live as if you only have today”. In lieu of flowers Claudette would like donations to be made to Wellspring Niagara, Dreams 2 Memories or Hospice Niagara.

The family will receive friends at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 278 Parnell Road on Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Church on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 11 a.m. ARRANGEMENTS ENTRUSTED TO THE HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street (905-684-6346).
