Mary "Nita" Ward, of St. Louis, MO, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the age of 93.
Nita was the dear daughter of the late Robert and Clara Faulkner; loving wife of the late Howard E. Ward; devoted mother of Donna (Ken) Kleiman, Barbara (Charles) Pellegrini, and the late Michael (Mary Jane) Ward; cherished grandma of 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; dear sister of the late Lois Campbell, the late Mildred Faulkner, the late Vernon Faulkner, the late Leota Meador, the late Cassie Absheer, and Norma (Daniel) Allen; and beloved aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Nita worked as a Bank Teller at Lemay Bank in South St. Louis and for Commerce Bank in University City. She was also a long-time, active member of Fee Fee Baptist Church. Most importantly, she was a wonderful wife and a loving mother. She loved to bake Christmas cookies for everyone she knew. Her family will always fondly remember the kitchen full of cookies leading up to Christmas. Nita taught herself how to crochet and she was very talented at it. Over the years she has created numerous gifts and useful items with her craft of crocheting. She will be remembered for her steadfast faith in Jesus, her Savior, her bright twinkling eyes, and the love and the care that she showed everyone she knew. Nita will truly be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
