Linda M. Stevens, age 70, of St. Louis, MO passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at GardenView Care Center of Chesterfield where she has called home for the last 2 plus years. Linda is survived by her two daughters and four grandchildren; Tammy Napoli (Mark) grandson Andrew Perales; and Korey O’Leary (Ryan) granddaughters Kaitlin, Shayne and Makenna.
Linda was born on May 24, 1953 to Adrian and Jean Ann Artman, joining her sister Anna Jean. Linda graduated from McCluer High School in Ferguson, MO. She was a competitive softball player on a team coached by her father and later on recreational teams. She married Larry Stevens in 1975 and had two beautiful daughters. While she and Larry later divorced, they remained friends and raised their children together.
Linda worked as a receptionist for a few different companies during her career; GE, Moeller Reimer and Conway Central (XPO). Because of her excellent saving skills, she was able to retire in 2019 just in time to go be with her youngest daughter for the birth of her last granddaughter in Hawaii.
After the sudden passing of her father, Linda took over care of her mother and sister who both later passed from dementia stemming from diabetes. Linda was also diagnosed with diabetes and after a few years also began showing signs of dementia. Once this disease took over, Linda moved into Gardenview Care Center Nursing Home where she was adored by the staff and other residents.
Linda was lucky enough to find the best group of lifelong friends anyone could ever ask for and she took pride in the fact they had all been friends for almost their whole lives. But if Linda was here today, she would tell you that her greatest accomplishment was her family. She loved her daughters and grandchildren and was so proud of everything they did.
In Lieu of Flowers memorials can be made in Linda’s name to the American Diabetes Association
