Leslie Joel Wheat (nee Overshon), 66, of St. Charles, MO passed away on December 27, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ada (nee Fieselman) Overshon and her brother, Richard (survived by Sherry) Overshon. Leslie is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Gary Wheat, Sr.; children, Gary Wheat, Jr., and Amy Burroughs; grandchildren, Crysta Kershman, Key Wheat, Jayden Hartman, and Alexis Burroughs; her best friend, Barb (Jim) Pierce; and many extended family members and friends.
Leslie was a 1970 graduate of Pattonville High School. Leslie was devoted to her family and to her job. She was an incredibly upbeat and positive person who could brighten up any room. She was filled with energy and loved to travel, enjoyed nature and the outdoors, and spending time reading a book on the beach. Leslie was a passionate St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan and enjoyed many games and fan events with her family—even a few trips to Spring Training. Even after a diagnosis of ALS, she continued to work and travel and keep up her positive spirit around everyone. Her vibrant, kind, and sassy spirit will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure to have known her.
Friends may visit on Wednesday, January 3, 2017 from 3-6 p.m. at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann. The celebration service of her life will be at 6 p.m. Memorials are appreciated to the ALS Society.
