John William Hoss III passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 3rd, 2015 at the age of 68. Beloved son of the late John W. Hoss, Jr. and Jackie Lauck Helle; dear brother of Susan S. Allhusen and brother-in-law of Jim Allhusen; beloved uncle of Robert Mason, Eric Allhusen, Brett Mason, Jennifer Allhusen Holcombe, Lauren Allhusen Bullen and their 9 children; our dear cousin, nephew and friend.
John is a veteran and received a Bronze Star for Valor for his service on the USS Forrestal in the Gulf of Tonkin during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, John worked as a home maintenance, repair and remodeler in the greater St. Louis area. He lived a simple life, but enjoyed the camaraderie of his friends, good humor and visits with his family. John will be remembered by all who knew him for his good nature, amazingly big heart and funny quips. He loved to fish and enjoyed tournament fishing. He was an avid coin collector, poker player and in earlier days, he loved riding his motorcycle.
A memorial service will be held at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 8th, 2015 at 2:00 PM followed by refreshments. Visitation from 1:30 to 2:00 PM preceding the service.
