He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Irene Deachan; wife of 55 years, Darleen; son, David (survived by Cindy) Deachan; and a sister, Patricia Kunkel. Ed is survived by his children, Denise (Brian) Reid of Charleston, IL, Dennis (Diane) Deachan of Grandview, MO, and Darren (Tracey) Deachan of Florissant, MO; grandchildren, Sarah, Alex (Danielle), Bradley (Jennifer), Tiffany (Aaron), Justin (Anna), Greg (Jerica), and Michael (Jaclyn); great grandchildren, Ashley, Courtney, Hayden, Skyler, and Autumn; and brothers-in-law, Jack (Sue) Shearer and Gary (Dee Dee) Spindler. Dear uncle, cousin, and friend of many.
Ed was a fun-loving man who was always the life of the party. He enjoyed bowling and golfing and travelling across the country. He and Darleen had fun wherever they went—whether it was dancing or taking one of their many trips out West. Vegas was a favorite! Ed retired after 45 years with Union Electric and truly enjoyed his life with family and friends. He was a man of real character and was an amazing caretaker for Darleen when she became ill. His sense of humor and inability to be politically correct will never be forgotten. He was truly loved and will be missed.
The family has chosen a private service due to the limitations of gathering with COVID19. Ed will be laid to rest with his wife and son at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society and hopes you will express your condolences and share a fond memory on-line at www.alexanderstlouis.com. A memorial gathering and party to celebrate Ed will be held a later date.
