Betty Jean Sparks, age 91, of Bridgeton, Missouri passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023. She was born May 12, 1932, to Edward and Mamie (nee: Donjon) Schmiedeke. They have preceded her in death, as have her siblings Ed Schmiedeke and Mary Land, and her daughter Donna Field. Betty is survived by: her daughter Linda Costello (the late Kenneth Costello); her grandchildren: Amanda Field, Kristen Field, Lisa Field, Chris Morrow; and one great-grandson, Miles Pridgeon.
Betty enjoyed her work with Airpath and Gear Products, a navigation equipment manufacturer, as an administrative assistant. She was a friend to animals, and began rescuing cats at her work. She then founded a cat colony which is still active - she dedicated much of her spare time to this cause.
Memorial contributions may be made to the animal rescue of the donor's choice.
