William D. Toney Jr.

On February 9, 2015, William D. Toney, Jr. of Alexandria, Virginia died at the age of 91. He was born in Richmond, Virginia on September 12, 1923 to William D. Toney and Betty Vest Toney.
Bill enlisted in the United States Army during World War II and served with the Army Air Corps in North Africa and Italy. In 1950, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.On September 6, 1952, Bill married Annabel Lee Rosser from Altoona, Pennsylvania; they were happily married for 47 years.
Bill had a career in the HVAC industry and enjoyed problem solving and design. He loved golf, fishing, and boating, but his passion was his family.
Bill is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Scott and Anna Toney of Springfield, VA and his daughter and son-in-law Cathy and John Snider of Burke, VA. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Lindsay (Chris) Wochok, Kyle Snider, Allison (Adam) Langley, Jacob Toney, Rachel Toney, and one great-grandson, Parker Langley.
Friends and family may visit at Demaine Funeral Home on February 18 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Springfield, VA on Thursday, February 19 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his wife “Annie” and daughter Jennifer.
