Demaine Funeral Home
Leroy Seger—a cherished friend, partner, and confidant to all—passed away on January 17, 1943. Roy was born on 78 years earlier on January 24, 1943. He spent his early part of his life in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where he took on an appreciation for aviation. He earned his pilot’s license as a young adult working at a fixed base aviation operation. He took his love for aviation to the Air Force when he enlisted during the Vietnam War as a photographer. Roy later went onto attend Millersville University where he received a degree in economics. He then moved to Northern Virginia to continue his service to the public. Roy became a Chief Investigator for the Fairfax County Department of Consumer Affairs, where he advocated for citizens by providing advice, mediation, and arbitration. Throughout this time he was a beloved life partner of Clare Murphy. They spent 25 years together. Roy’s gentle, compassionate, and thoughtful approach to life will be missed by all.
