Brigadier General (R) Jack A. Pellicci passed away on July 4, 2024. Born on May 22nd, 1938, he was preceded in death by the one true love of his life, Susan Genheimer, who was the only “soldier” who could give Jack orders; his parents, John and Antoinette Pellicci; and his son, Michael (Suzanne). General Pellicci is survived by his sister, Marianne (Andrew) Morzello of White Plains, NY; his son, Colonel Jack A. Pellicci, Jr. USA (Ret.) of Eagleville, PA (Ginny); his daughter Deanna Broujos (Gregg) of Pittsburgh, PA; and son David Pellicci (Kelley) of Annapolis, MD. He will be missed by his grandchildren: Gianna Pellicci; Michael and Alexander Pellicci; Zachary (Tate) and Nicholas Broujos; Susan and Olivia Pellicci; and his niece, Maria Paternoster of West Harrison, NY. The Pellicci family would like to thank Medra Keyser of Amelia Island, FL for her tremendous friendship with Jack in his later years. He was born in New Rochelle, NY, and raised in Pelham, NY. After high school, he attended the United States Military Academy at West Point. After graduating from West Point in 1960, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant. He served as an infantry officer in command assignments from Platoon to Brigade level and served in staff assignments from Battalion to Division level in the U.S., Europe, Hawaii, Asia, and the Pentagon, while also serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. He graduated with a BS in Engineering from West Point, and obtained a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech. He also taught engineering fundamentals and computer sciences at West Point for three years, as well as teaching at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, PA, where he was a graduate. General Pellicci’s last post was as Commanding General of the Army’s Personnel Information Systems Command. After serving in the Army for 32 years, he joined Oracle Corporation in 1992, where he led the business development group for their government, education, health, and aerospace/ defense industries, followed by a position leading the Global Public Sector Group. In 2006, he joined Intergraph Corporation as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Federal Government Solutions sector, rising to President and CEO of Intergraph Government Solutions in 2010. He retired from the public sector in 2013. He then became very involved as a board member for the National Defense University Foundation. He was subsequently named Emeritus Chairman of the Board of Directors. He was also a Director Emeritus of the Open Geospatial Consortium, and served on the Board of Directors at the USO of Metropolitan Washington. He was the founder and President of Lancer Information Solutions. General Pellicci was a significant donor to the West Point Association of Graduates, as well as a generous donor to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. His nickname in the Army was “Mad Dog”, which he earned by his relentless, hard charging work ethic. He led by example in all aspects of his life, through an undying commitment to God, family, and country. He was a true “Patriot” in every sense of the word, and always “fought the good fight”! Family and friends received Wednesday, July 17th from 4-6PM at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Rd, Springfield, VA, 22151. Funeral Mass at 11AM, 18 July to be held at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 7600 Old Keene Mill Rd, Springfield, VA, 22152. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
