Catherine A. Boynton, 95, of Springfield, VA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on September 26, 2022.
She was born in Matawan, NJ to Norina and Vito Vecchio and grew up with her three sisters Mary, Elizabeth, and Theresa. Catherine moved to Springfield with her husband, Frank, and her three children. Her lifelong passion was her family and she enjoyed volunteering at the Ft. Belvoir Thrift Shop for over 30 years.
She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Grzelak; her children, Karen Freglette, and husband James, John, and wife Dawn, and Frank, and wife Denise; and her grandchildren Nicholas, Easton, and Wyatt. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Frank, her grandson, Anthony Freglette, and her sisters, Mary and Theresa.
Catherine’s services will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022, with a mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 7401 St. Michaels Lane, Annandale, VA 22003, and a visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22151. A graveside service, for immediate family, will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Quantico National Cemetery.
