Barbara M Petty

Long time Annandale, VA resident Barbara M. Petty died April 9, 2015, at Arden Courts Memory Care in Annandale.

Ms. Petty was born on December 17, 1919 in Claremont, NH. She was the younger of two children. Ms. Petty's sister, Shirley Montgomery, predeceased her in October 2014. Her husband of 60+ years, Wilson Petty, predeceased her in November 2013. Ms. Petty is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.

Ms. Petty was an accomplished artist and art collector. She loved gardening and was a member of the local garden club, as well as The Nature Conservancy. Ms. Petty was an avid antique collector and was a longtime member of the American Antiques Arts Association. She also enjoyed working on her extensive stamp collection.

A viewing and funeral service for Ms. Petty will be held at the Demaine Funeral Home located at 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA. The viewing will run from 11:00 to 12:00, immediately followed by the service. Interment will be at Fairfax Memorial Park located at 9900 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA.
