He was born on March 30, 1958 in Chicago, IL, the son of Henry and Jeannette Slager. He married Clarissa McCoskey on August 11, 1990 in Park Forest, IL and she survives.
Tom worked as a Service Technician for Igor , and Walmart in Springfield.
Besides his wife Clarissa, he is survived by his mother Jeannette Slager of Frankfort, IL; his brother Robert Slager of Frankfort, IL; his sister Janet (husband Ronald) Kooyenga of Sun City, AZ; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Henry Slager.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield, where a visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 4 pm till 7 pm. Per his wishes, cremation rites will follow. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
There will be a Memorial Service officiated by Pastor Keith Betry on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 11 am following a Memorial Visitation from 10 am until the time of service at Heritage Baptist Church, 21739 South Lagrange Road, Frankfort, IL.
