Robert "Bob" Bergen

Bob was born August 28, 1941, in Springfield, IL, to Harry A. and Maryann Stramick Bergen. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In 1961, Bob graduated from Lanphier High School to go onto proudly serving the country by joining the U.S. Navy from 1961-1966. Bob worked for Fiatallis in Springfield, IL. Later, he started his own business of Bob Bergen Heating and Cooling that continues to serve the Sangamon County area for more than 35 plus years. During his leisure time, he enjoyed spending time with family, swimming, taking cruises and traveling. Bob was a 42 year member of the Chatham Central Lodge 523 A.F. & A.M.

Bob is survived by his wife, B.J. Bergen of Chatham; one daughter Patty (Heidi) Lear of Orlando, FL; two sons, Mike and Frank Bergen of Springfield; one step-son, Brian (Jennifer) Hollis of Plainfield, IL; two step-daughters, Becky (Jim) Rychel and Melissa Hollis (Companion, Terrell Silas) of Springfield; Seven grandchildren, Hayden, Josh, Calvin, Ashley, Shaunna, Lindsy, and Makenzie; five great-grandchildren, True, Kamryn, Marleo, Jazlynn, and Kaison; four siblings, Carol (Wayne) Mendenhall of Chatham, Bill (Joyce) Bergen of Litchfield, Tom Bergen of Riverside, CA, and Jeanette Seitz of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 26th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Bisch Funeral Home, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield, IL 62711. The Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the same location.
