Richard A Schoedel

He was born August 6, 1940 in Peoria, IL, the son of Elmer and Esther (Schoonover) Schoedel. He married Carol Leesman on December 30, 1960 in Sterling, IL.

Dick was a veteran of the United States Air force. He was an insurance agent with Allstate Insurance Company for nearly 30 years. He was also a longtime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Schoedel; son, William Schoedel of Springfield; daughter, Erica (husband, Ed) Sharar of Santa Ana, CA; four grandchildren, Noah and LizzieSchoedel and Rachel and Jack Sharar, brother, Warren Schoedel of Colorado; and a sister, Zella Brooks of Arizona.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Dick requested no funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. He will be interred at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
