Phillip G. Stephens, 89, of Springfield died at 5:05 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2005 at his residence. Phillip was born August 18, 1916 in Pana, IL the son of Leonard and Georgia Norman Stephens. He married Eva Rogers on March 13, 1937 in Springfield, IL. Mr. Stephens was employed as a mechanic at Geitl Brothers for 33 years, then at Kaiser Frazier for 2 years and worked at S.J. Grove for 12 years before he retired. He owned a Model-T Ford which he loved to work on. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Reva Reiner. He is survived by wife: Eva Florence Stephens; one son: Phillip L. (fiancé, Linda) Stephens of Springfield; three daughters: Eva (husband, Raymond) Fickas of Girard, Barbara (husband, Pat) Crotty of Phoenix, AZ and Lois (husband, Wayne) Cox of Springfield; fourteen grandchildren: Darrin (wife, Diane) Stephens, Randy Stephens, Miranda Carlove, Kathy Coloniun, Nancy (husband, Kevin) Hawley, Tina (husband, Steve) Gruender, Sue Shepard, Ricky (wife, Barbara) Reiner, Leonard Reiner, Joann, Patrick (wife, Patty) Crotty, Michael (wife, Teresa) Crotty, Wayne (wife, Pat) Cox and Gerald (wife, Kim) Cox and nineteen great grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pulaski Cemetery.
