Pete Mancini

He was born in Gualdo Tadino, Italy November 20, 1923 the son of Francisco and Neonilda Bensi Mancini. He came to the United States at the age of 29. He married Josephine Torretto in Springfield, January 24, 1953, and she survives.

He is also survived by his daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” (husband Jeff) Bohl of Springfield, his son, Mark (wife Connie) Mancini, Minister, of Grand Prairie TX, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and his step-sister, Iola Mancini of Italy, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter Elizabeth Bohl.

Pete was well known in the Springfield area. He worked for Springfield Produce for over 40 years. He was a past member of the Blue Ridge Club, and a member of the Springfield Church of Christ.

Cremation rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am at the Springfield Church of Christ 3253 S. 4th St., Springfield, IL on Saturday, October 5, 2013. Damon Brog, Minister will officiate.

In Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in the memory of Pete and his granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Bohl.
