Patty was born in Marion, Ohio, on November 20, 1942, to Dorris A. and Lena M. (Nicolosi) Davis. She graduated from Marion Catholic High School in 1960. One of her first summer jobs was as a waitress in her uncle’s restaurant, the Humpty Dumpty. One day, a customer called authorities, believing the owner was overworking one waitress. Patty and her identical twin sister worked back-to-back shifts, causing the confusion.
Patty graduated from Columbus University in 1962 and Weaver Airline Personnel School in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1964. Her career in airline computer communications began when the industry was young, like herself, and at a time when few women worked in the field. She was a message and data processing agent for Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, then an intercept operator for Aeronautical Radio, Inc. (ARINC) in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, where she worked most of her career before transferring to and retiring from ARINC headquarters in Annapolis, Maryland, in 1997.
In the Chicago area, she met George J. Le Comte Jr., whom she married on February 3, 1968, in Marion. They raised their family in Des Plaines, Illinois, retiring to Clinton, Illinois, in 2000. He passed away in 2004.
Patty enjoyed travel, entertaining, drawing and painting, sewing and needlecraft, dining out, her family, her friends, and her dogs. She talked to her twin sister every day, if not more. She had an eye for home and architectural design, was a master home organizer, and gave the perfect Christmas and birthday gifts. Of course, she was extremely proud of her six grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen (John Lupton) of Springfield and Michael (Katherine) of Pompano Beach, Florida; grandchildren, twins Lydia Lupton and Claudia Lupton, and Audrey Lupton, attending University of Cincinnati, Saint Louis University and Purdue University, respectively; Megan Le Comte and Ashley Le Comte, both attending University of Florida, and Matthew Le Comte, a senior at Pompano Beach High School and future UF Gator. She is also survived by twin sister, Mary Ann (Thomas) White of Mansfield, Ohio; brother-in-law, James White of New Albany, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and her dog, Happy. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; and sister, Dorlene White.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center, prior to services.
