Olivia Ann Dennis

Olivia was born to William and Marie Chronic in Oblong on February 17,1925.

Olivia is survived by two sons, Douglas A. Dennis and Spencer W. Dennis, both of Springfield; a sister Loretta Brough of Texas City, Texas; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Homer, Stanley and Noel.

In November of 1943, Olivia married her high school sweetheart Allen V. Dennis of the U.S. Navy during World War II. Allen died in January of 1994 after he and Olivia celebrated their 50th anniversary.

At Oblong High School she was crowned homecoming queen, was awarded a pin for the National Honor Society, and was a majorette for the marching band and drum and bugle corps.

Olivia was a beloved mother, devoted homemaker and member of the Sunday School class at West Side Christian Church.

A visitation will be held from 12pm until 2pm on Saturday April 6, 2024 at Bisch Funeral Home West. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Sunday April 7, 2024 at Pulliam Funeral Home in Robinson, Illinois. The burial will follow at Robinson New Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Side Christian Church Building Program.
