Nancy J. Needham

Nancy J. Needham, 76, of Springfield passed away on Thursday November 12, 2015 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born on February 5, 1939 in Tallula, IL., to Levi and Inez Porter Hamilton. She married Robert Oscar Needham on April 18, 1957 and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2015.

Mrs. Needham is survived by one daughter Joyce Porter of Springfield, three sons: Steven (Christina) Needham of Oshkosh, WI., and Marty and David Needham both of Springfield, fourteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Doug Needham, sister Betty J. Cole, and great-grandson Zakaree.

Nancy and her husband Robert were both ordained ministers with Five Fold Ministry specializing in youth and senior citizens outreach at several churches in the Midwest and they sheltered many children over the years. Pastor Bob and Nancy assisted in starting church services at Park Tower High rise and also helped with the Young At Heart Program at the iWorshipCenter.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Friday November 20, 2015 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street, with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Tallula. The family will meet friends from 4:00pm-7:00pm Thursday at the funeral home.
