Michael Ray Urban, 74, of Buffalo, Illinois, passed away on September 28, 2024, after a brave battle with ALS, surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and man of faith, Michael touched the lives of everyone who knew him with his humor, kindness, and thoughtfulness.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Mona Urban; his daughters, Andrea Knoles (Eric) and Amanda Urban Moukoury (Yan); six grandchildren (Gavin, Gage and Ella Knoles. Cade, Lenox and Romee Moukoury), who brought him immense joy; along with one brother, four sisters, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Lee Urban; his mother, Annabelle; and his stepfather, Harry Sexton.
Michael's warmth, compassion, and the ability to brighten any room made him a treasured figure in the lives of his family and friends. He was known for often saying, "I'm glad you got to see me," a phrase that perfectly captured his light-hearted spirit and the joy he found in spending time with others.
Michael leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
